Hi! I am Steve Byers.
I arrived in Jefferson County over 4 years ago and enjoyed its wonderful people and community. From the airport community at Aucilla Shores to the businesses down town. I founded a church called Hilltop Christian Fellowship and have hosted not only Sunday services for 3 years but numberous christian retreats and ministry projects.
My wife and I raised a family in Delray Beach, Florida, home schooling our two children ages 18 and 14. I put my whole heart into whatever I do; all I do is a calling more than an ambition. Right now the calling is for our wonderful Jefferson County; to preserve its wonderful appeal; to preserve fairness and intergirty among its governance.
I am a fast learner and accomplish everything with an accelerated excellence. From achieving my private pilot’s license in 11 days – To raising a son that accomplished a Master Degree in accounting at age 18 and hired into a top 10 accounting firm at age 18 ½.
I didn’t come from money but I did come from a hard working family. At ten years old I diligently delivered newspapers, and in high school had a lawn business that made more money than most college graduates. A lot of that money put my older bother and sister through college. I then went to college for Computer Engineering, worked for Bell Northern Research and developed a large Amway business. After learning leadership and success principles, I led development teams from western Pennsylvania to North Carolina. I started a technology consulting business culminating in projects for IBM, the CIA and federal forensic trial support. After a solid decade in the technology business I moved on to develop businesses in aviation, real estate, education, beekeeping, and insurance. In all the driven pursuits I have been blessed with an ever increasing passion for loving the Lord. Now in my 50’s I have been able to take pause and share and teach and love others as He loves me.
I will do the right thing, I do not have ambitions for money or power, like so many politicians seem to have today. Doing the right thing is actually a character trait of analytical personalities; coming from a technical background, its either right or wrong, on or off, 1 or 0. So don’t consider giving money to me, but consider voting for cause of righting the wrongs, and getting government back on track.
